Danshui is located in north-eastern Taipei County, but soon, if not already, Danshui will become a proper city. By MRT it takes about 45 minutes from Taipei Main Station.Danshui or Tamsui in Taiwanese, is famous for agei (阿給), a popular snack made from tofu and Chinese vermicelli. However, I can only think of one thing to eat when I am in Danshui...seafood!

There is an inconspicuous little seafood shop on the main strip called Hai Feng "Sea Breeze" Restaurant (海風餐廳)which has been in business for over 40 years. This restaurant has seemed to have perfected the art of cooking; a must is the stir fried crab.

If you are in the mood for a quick snack you can take a stroll through the market or along the waterfront instead. Have an ice cream or a pork bun and have a look across the Danshui river.
